The 3rd of September 2015 marked 25 years since Jacqui MacVicar started with the business. In 1990, Devol Engineering was based at Clarence Street in Greenock, Scotland and was not yet part of the James Walker Group.
Jacqui started as an Assembly Operator, later becoming a Junior Inspector where she continued to work closely with the Assembly department. She is currently undertaking a six month secondment in the Quality department as Quality Administrator.
Undoubtedly, Jacqui has seen many changes in the business over 25 years – including the installation of new computer systems, the acquisition by James Walker in 2008 and most recently the move to the new premises at Faulds Park, Gourock in 2013 – and she has also become a mum to two daughters (Sophie and Hollie) who now attend a local primary school.
Jacqui’s achievement was marked at a recent presentation at James Walker Devol where Site Director Graham Stark commented “We are delighted to be celebrating Jacqui’s 25 years with the company. Having members of our team with such experience of our products and processes is invaluable and can be demonstrated by our outstanding quality performance. Changes in culture and the working environment mean long service with an employer is becoming an unusual occurrence and we are proud to have members of our team in this position and able to share their knowledge with the next generation.”
