Our Materials

James Walker Devol supplies a wide range of products and materials into a number of different markets and industries globally. In this section are some examples of areas where our components are currently in existence and already offering a range of customer benefits. As each of our parts are custom designed for unique applications, please contact us should you have an enquiry for an industry or application not included here.
Devlon T100

Devlon T100 is our proprietary cast material with inherently stress free and excellent wear properties, low friction and improved impact strength.

Devlon S-Grade

Devlon S-Grade offers superior mechanical properties, rendering it our premium of all engineering grade thermoplastics.

Devlon V-API

Devlon V-API provides similar performance levels to Devlon S-Grade but has been tailored for high temperature and pressure applications.

Devlube

A self-lubricating material ideally suited for slow-moving, dry-running applications requiring low friction and where lubrication is not possible.

Devlon A153

Devlon A153 is a specially formulated high viscosity Nylon 66, giving superior wear characteristics, improved strength and rigidity.

Making Sure You Get the Real Deal

We have launched a method of Positive Material Identification (PMI) for our Devlon thermoplastics
Protecting our own products from inferior, low-cost imitations

The PMI Technology is a microscopic additive incorporated within the Devlon material that can be identified from the smallest sample of material - including fine swarf shavings. The additive can even be detected in parts that may have been melted or burnt during use. The properties of Devlon are not in any way altered or compromised by PMI Technology, though its inclusion now means that genuine Devlon can be identified quickly and easily. In addition to being able to analyse material samples at our headquarters in Scotland, we can also provide a service to customers that allows material to be tested on site by James Walker personnel. This will be done with portable PMI analysers and is ideal in cases where immediate results are imperative or the material may have already been installed in an assembly.

Metallurgical

The tough and hard wearing nature of our thermoplastic materials means they are well suited for use in rolling mills and their secondary processes.

Mining and Quarrying

Our components are used in end products such as telescopic cranes, heavy duty vehicles, forklift trucks and container carriers.

Offshore

Our Devlon range are amongst the toughest thermoplastics available, making them ideal for use in demanding subsea environments.

Rail

Working with engineers and designers in the rail industry for over 25 years pioneering the use of thermoplastics to offer customers a range of benefits.

Valves

The main products that we supply into this industry are valve seats and inserts, manufactured from our Devlon V-API material.
